Movies on the Lawn

When you are selling your home, it is important to always keep outdoor spaces clean and neat, but this is most important when selling your home during the summer months. Keep the lawn mowed regularly, and if possible mow it diagonally, this is more visually appealing. Prune trees and shrubs, especially if they are touching the house or growing over the sidewalks and driveway. Keep the garden beds neat, and add brightly colored blooming annuals and perennials to the beds. In the backyard, play up spaces such as the swimming pool, outdoor kitchens, fire pits and putting greens. Outdoor spaces are wonderful for entertaining and extend the living space of the home.

Movies on the Lawn is beginning again for the summer of 2017. One of the upcoming movies will be E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, on Friday, June 30th.  The movie will start at 8:15pm. Bring your blankets and beach chairs and a picnic dinner. Or there will be a snack bar or food trucks on site. There are two sets of movies this year, Flashback Fridays and Blockbuster Saturdays.

Friday, June 16th: The Princess Bride

Saturday, June 17th: Sing

Friday, June 23rd: Rudy

Saturday, June 24th: The Secret Life of Pets

Friday, June 30th: E.T. the Extra Terrestrial

Saturday, July 1st: The Lego Batman Movie

All movies will begin at dusk and are weather dependent.  This is a family friendly event and it is free to attend. Movies are shown on the Terraced Lawn at the Orange County Great Park. Walt and the Flying Bull Exhibition

If you are selling your home this summer, use summery accents to complete your staging. Always begin by de-cluttering and de-personalizing the home. You don’t want potential buyers looking at your decorations and not seeing the house. Stage the house, giving purpose to each room, so you do not leave potential buyers guessing as what a room is used for. Finally, add a punch of color with accents, such as brightly colored throw rugs, a vase of fresh cut flowers or vivid colored throw pillows.

Walt and the Flying Bull Exhibition will be held at the OC Great Park beginning Friday, June 9th. The grand opening will take place that day from 12pm until 4pm. Walt Disney designed the Flying Bull called El Toro, in 1943, as the logo for the Marine Corps Air Station at El Toro. This is one of approximately 1,200 designs that the Disney Company created during World War II for the US and Allied military units. This exhibit will focus on the history of Disney Insignia Art, show “original artwork inspired by World War II by contemporary artists working for Walt Disney Productions, Marvel Entertainment and Pixar Animation Studios.   The exhibit will be located in the Great Park Gallery in the Palm Court Arts Complex. This exhibit is family friendly, open to the public and free to attend. This exhibit will be open Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 4pm and Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. The Orange County Great Park is located at 6950 Marine Way in Irvine. For more information about this exhibit, see their website at: http://www.cityofirvine.org/news-media/calendar-of-events/event/walt-and-flying-bull-exhibition-21.
