Symphony of the Cities

 

Curb appeal counts, up to 75% of potential buyers check homes out online first, so the better the pictures the better the response. Also, potential buyers will begin forming opinions about a property they second they pull up to the curb.  Keep the gardens neat, debris free and full of brightly blooming flowers. Keep the lawn mowed. Finally, be sure that the house numbers can easily be seen from the street.

 

The Symphony of the Cities will be performing in Irvine.  The Pacific Symphony will be at Mike Ward Community Park on Sunday, July 29th. Carl St. Clair will be the conductor, Chelsea Chaves is the soprano, and Nick Preston is the tenor. Bring your beach chairs and blankets.  This is a family friendly event and it is free to attend. Doors open at 5:30pm with local music and family activities and the symphony begins performing at 7pm. Among the pieces they will perform are The Star Spangled Banner, Hands Across the Sea, Strike Up the Bad, West Side Story Suite and Mambo, among other pieces. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

 

When you are selling you home during the summer months, you will have to put extra time and effort into maintaining the lawn and gardens for great curb appeal. Keep the lawn and gardens well watered. When you mow the lawn do not cut it as short, as you normally would. Mow the lawn on a diagonally, this is just more visually appealing. Try using drought tolerant plants in the garden beds; this will make them easier to maintaining and looking great.

 

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will be performing at the Irvine Barclay Theatre at the end of summer. The concert will be on September 22nd, but tickets are expected to sell quickly. Concerts have been sold out from the Hollywood Bowl to Lincoln Center. The concert will feature jazz and swing music. The band has been together for over 24 years and is named after an autograph by blues legend Albert Collins. The band has appeared on Dancing with the Stars and Super Bowl XXXIII. Spring Suite and Recital Showcase

 

When you are selling your home during the summer season, provide some cool refreshments for potential buyers.  Potential buyers will enjoy walking into a cool house. Bottles of cold water and lemonade will go a long way in making potential buyers feel welcome and comfortable in the space. Cool and happy potential buyers will linger and that is positive for a home sale.

 

Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky’s  Spring Suite and Recital Showcase will be held on Saturday, June 23rd.  Spring Suite is a “light-hearted” ballet celebrating the season with Peruvian flute music, choreographed by Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky and featuring students of the V & T Classical Ballet and Dance Academy. The Recital Showcase is solo student performances and class performances. The performance begins at 2pm. This performance is being presented by the Golden State Dance Foundation and the V & T Classical Ballet and Dance Academy. Dance Variations 2018

 

If you are selling your home during the spring season, it is important to get your yard into shape.  Curb appeal is important to selling your home. Begin by clearing winter debris; follow that by pruning back deadwood and over grown trees and bushes. Add blooming perennials to garden beds. Finally add decorative containers to the front porch, decks and patios.

 

 

The Classical Dance Center is presenting their performance of Dance Variations 2018.  The performance will be held at the Irvine Barclay Theatre on Tuesday, June 5th.  There will be many dance variations performed including classical ballet, contemporary ballet, lyrical and jazz. Dancers from age three to adult will be performing. During the grand finale will have all performers on stage. Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Irvine Barclay Theatre

 

Great your yard into tip top shape before listing your home for sale.  Curb appeal is extremely important is selling your home. The Claire Trevor School of the Arts is hosting a special performance of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.  Performances will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and 13th.  Opera and music are written by Giacomo Puccini with the Libretto by Giovacchino. Forzano Darryl Taylor is the artistic director and Stephen Tucker is the conductor. This opera was originally performed in 1918 and tells the story of Sister Angelica; who is forced into a convent by her family after a scandal. This is the second in a group of three operas.  This is a great way to enjoy Mother’s Day with your mom. “It Passes like a Thought” Art Exhibition

 

When you are getting ready to sell your home, pay close attention to curb appeal. Potential buyers will form their first opinions about the property within one minute of arriving at the property, make these positive opinions. The University of California at Irvine, Beall Center for Art and Technology is hosting “It Passes like a Thought” Art Exhibition through Saturday, May 26th.  The exhibition opened in March and is a group art exhibition of interdisciplinary artists, with the focus of birds. The exhibit features seven artists. Victoria Vesna, Susan Silton and Anne Walsh focus on birdsong. Lynn Aldrich and Juan Fontanive focus on the birds’ capacity for flight. And finally Richard Ross focuses on the human need to taxonomize the species as a way of understanding it. This exhibit is free to visit. Dance Theatre of Harlem at the Irvine Barclay Theater

 

The kitchen is one of the most important rooms to potential buyers, so make your kitchen eye catching to potential buyers, when your home is for sale. Clean the refrigerator and the freezer, and all the other appliances. Deep clean the back splash, sinks, and counter tops. The Irvine Barclay Theater is hosting an evening with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, on Wednesday, April 18th. This presentation will include a lecture and demonstration. 9th Annual Creative Edge Lecture

 

It is spring and it is time to get your yard in shape, especially if you are selling your home during this season.  Begin by cleaning up winter debris.  Follow this with pruning back trees, bushes and shrubs, especially away from the sidewalks, driveway and house.  Next, add blooming plants to the garden beds. The 9th Annual Creative Edge Lecture presented by Arts Orange County will feature speaker Dr. Robert Duke. His presentation is entitled “Eleven Years of Piano and I Can’t Get a Date: Cultivating Creativity in Human Expression.” Dr. Duke is a professor and head of Music and Human Learning at The University of Texas at Austin, Arts Orange County Arts OC, supports art and art education throughout Orange County by bringing together business, arts and education communities. This event is free to attend, pre-reservation and tickets are required to enter. This non-profit was started in 1995, Arts Orange County is located at 3730 South Susan Street in Santa Ana, and this event is being held at the Irvine Barclay Theater located at 4242 Campus Drive in Irvine.
