Irvine

Irvine is a larger city located in Orange County, California.  Irvine is bordered by Santa Ana, Tustin, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.  Irvine was designed as a mastered planned city, by the Irvine Company in the early 1960’s. Irvine was incorporated in 1971. The city encompasses 66 square miles with a population of approximately 224,000 people.   The city's mission statement is "to create and maintain a community where people can live, work, and play in an environment that is safe, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing."

Irvine is split into two school districts.  The Irvine Unified School District serves the majority of the city.  This school district has 22 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 4 high schools and 1 continuation high school.  The Tustin Unified School District serves the western and northern portions of Irvine.  The Tustin School District has 17 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 2 high schools and 1 continuation high school.
