Movies on the Lawn August 13th

The next installment of Movies on the Lawn will take place on Saturday, August 13th.  Sing 2 will be the next movie they offer.  Movies on the lawn are held on the Great Park Terraced Lawn. Food trucks arrive at 6:30pm and movies begin at dusk. Sing 2 brings back koala, Buster Moon, and his all-star cast of animal performers. Movies on the Lawn are free to attend. Bring your own chairs and or beach blankets. Picnics are welcomed or you can purchase from one of the on-site food trucks. Turtle Rock Nature Center

Turtle Rock Nature Center is in the San Joaquin Hills in the city of Irvine. The center provides environmental classes, information, and a wildlife refuge for the surrounding community. This five-acre reserve has an outdoor classroom where participants and visitors learn about and how to protect the natural environment. Visitors can explore the nature center at their leisure, take a self-guided trail walk, explore the native plant garden, or try the labyrinth during open hours.  Turtle Rock Nature Center is located at 1 Sunnyhill Drive. The nature center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and 9am to 4pm on Saturday. Irvine's Fourth of July Celebration

Celebrate the 4th of July at Irvine’s Fireworks Extravaganza. Festivities get underway at 3pm, with the event culminating in a fireworks spectacular at 9pm. All activities are taking place at Irvine High School, located at 4321 Walnut in Irvine. There will food ,music and raffle prizes, in addition to the fireworks. There will be live musical performances, a selection of food trucks and field games for children. Adult tickets are $15, and children and seniors are $10. Dinos in the City at Pretend City Children's Museum

Pretend City Children’s Museum is hosting the Dinos in the City exhibit from May 27th through September 2nd, 2022. The exhibit includes interactive animatronic dinosaurs and is filled with educational content. Guests will learn about paleontologists unearthing bones, kids will have an opportunity to dig in a dinosaur pit. Kids will even take-home etchings of different species of dinosaurs. The exhibit was created by Omaha Children’s Museum. The museum is open daily from 10am to 4pm.  Pretend City is located at 29 Hubble in Irvine. The Festival Ballet Theatre presents Don Quixote

The Irvine Barclay Theatre is hosting The Festival Ballet Theatre production of Don Quixote. There will be two performances by The Festival Ballet Theatre on Saturday, March 19th, and Sunday, March 20th, both at 7pm. With guest artists, Jeraldine Mendoza and Dylan Guiterrez, audience members will enjoy a full length, traditional performance of Spanish flavors, rhythms, and passion. Irvine Barclay Theatre is featuring a performance by Kulaiwi. They will be performing on Friday, January 21st at 8pm. Kulaiwi is Hawaiian for “land of my ancestors” and is made-up of three leading performers from Hawaii. Lehua Kalima, Kawika Kahiapo and Shawn Pimental will perform island favorites and be accompanied by hula dancer Pono Fernandez.
