Shady Canyon is a group of three luxury neighborhoods which is located in the Turtle Rock section of Irvine. Shady Canyon is bordered by the Quail Hill development, Bommer Canyon and the James Irvine Retreat. This community sits just north of Turtle Ridge and west of the 405 Freeway. Shady Canyon is 800 acres in size and is divided between 300 acres of golf course and 500 acres of residential development. It is surrounded by another 16,000 acres of natural sanctuary. There are approximately 400 homes with a 1000 residents spread across the three Shady Canyon developments. The three communities that make up Shady Canyon are the Masters Collection, Sycamore and the Villas of Shady Canyon. Shady Canyons is one of newer communities in Turtle Rock and still has some under construction homes available. Shady Canyon is a guard gated community designed to resemble the Tuscan Countryside. Most homes in this area have a Mediterranean, Tuscan, Italian, Santa Barbara, French Provencal and Farmhouse architectural styles. There are several floor plans to choose from and single level options. There are also custom built homes and estates throughout the three communities. Views in this area include city night lights, surrounding mountains and hills, some ocean views and golf course views. Home prices in Shady Canyon range from three million to fifteen million dollars. There are many resort style amenities offered in Shady Canyon including a Junior Olympic size pool, spa, clubhouse, tennis courts, tot lot and outdoor entertaining area. Shady Canyon is home to the private Shady Canyon Golf Club designed by Tom Fazio. Shady Canyon residents have exclusive private use of this golf club. In addition to Shady Canyon Golf Course, there are two more golf courses nearby; Strawberry Fields Golf Course and Oak Creek Golf Club. Students attend schools in the award winning Irvine Unified School District. University of California, Irvine, Concordia University and Irvine Valley College are located close by. Residents have easy access to the 405 Freeway and the 73 Toll Road. The Newport Coast section of Newport Beach is within biking distance.
