Corona del Mar is part of Newport Beach, California.  Corona del Mar encompasses all the land on the ocean side of the San Joaquin Hills and south Avocado Avenue to the city limits.  Irvine Terrace is an exception, as it is north of Avocado Avenue.  Locally, Corona del Mar is known the CDM.  Corona del Mar is Spanish for “Crown of the Sea.”  The area is well known for its sandy beaches, tidal pools and cliff side views.
