The Heritage and Aviation Exhibition at the Orange County Great Park features different exhibits throughout the year. The current exhibit will feature artifacts and historical narration for the MCAS El Toro Fire Services. Among the artifacts being shown are Vintage Fire and Crash Crew Truck, Extinguisher Cart, Ornate Hose Pieces, Federal Firefighter and Crash Crew Protective Gear and Fire Alarm Boxes. The exhibit opened on June 16th and will be open through October 2nd. The Heritage and Aviation Exhibition is situated in the historical Hanger 244. In addition, the Hanger has World War II Airplanes, a history room, and Farmers to Flyers room. The Great Park is part of a former military base, the Marine Corp Air Station; the Farmers to Flyers room follow this piece of land as it started as farm land, became a military base and now is the Great Park. This exhibit is open on Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 4pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. This exhibit is free to visit.
