The Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine is presenting a very special event, UCI Drama Department production of Chess. The performances are scheduled from November 11th through November 18th. Music was written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and lyrics by Tim Rice. This production is directed by Robin Buck and Daniel Gary Busby is the music director. The musical is set in the 1980’s and uses the game of chess as “a metaphor for political and romantic intrigue.” This production will be held at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. There are both matinee and evening performances. The Claire Trevor School of the Arts is an innovative center dedicated to both the visual and performing arts.
