Gardens and yards do not always look their best during winter months, yet you want the outdoors to look as great as the indoors when you are selling your home, regardless of the time of year. Start by keeping the lawn in shape; mow it if necessary, keep the yard well raked and free from fall and winter garden debris. Trim any dead branches from tree and shrubs. This is also a good time to prune trees and shrubs, so that the house can be seen. Add a photo album on the kitchen table or counter with pictures of your home, yard and garden in the spring, summer and fall seasons, so that potential buyers will see how the house looks throughout the year.
