The University of California, Irvine Opera Department is performing Our Town. The opera will be performed on Friday, May12th and Saturday, May 13th. This is a three act opera by Ned Rorem based on the play by Thorton Wilder. The play is set in the early 20th century in the town of Grover’s Corner, New Hampshire. The story is about life, love and death. Kristine Rothfuss Erbst is the stage director, Darryl Taylor the artistic director and Stephen Tucker the music director. The opera is being performed at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. The UCI Symphony Orchestra will join the production. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17. Both performances begin at 8pm.
