Turtle Rock, Irvine
Turtle Rock is situated in south Irvine. The name is derived from the local massive rock formation that resembles a turtle. Turtle Rock is near the Newport Beach city limits. Turtle Rock is bordered by Ridgeline Drive, Campus Drive, and Culver Drive. This community neighbors the Shady Canyon development and is adjacent to the Turtle Ridge development. This community has a mix of older homes and new construction. Construction began in Turtle Rock in the 1967. There are approximately twenty different neighborhoods in Turtle Rock. Turtle Rock has condos, villas, single family homes and custom built estates. Homes have from three to six bedrooms and three to eleven bathrooms. Square footage ranges from 2,300 square feet to 15,000 square feet. Homes have views of the golf course, surrounding mountains and hills. Home values range from $800,000 to 15 million dollars. Amenities in the Turtle Rock development include multiple swimming pools, parks and walking trails. The Turtle Rock Nature Center is located in the development. It is a five acre nature preserve that is a home for wildlife and outdoor classroom. Students living in Turtle Rock are within walking distance to both Turtle Rock Elementary School and University High School. There are two elementary schools in Turtle Rock: Turtle Rock Elementary School and Bonita Canyon Elementary School. There are many shopping, dining and entertainment options available at Irvine Spectrum Shopping Center and South Coast Plaza. Oak Creek Golf Club is next to Turtle Rock.
